This workshop was facilited on 11/29/22 by Jackie Dell, the CET&L Graduate Assistant.
Workshop description:
It can be intimidating for new instructors to design a course for the
first time and determine how to frame course content in engaging and
meaningful ways. Whether you are putting your own touch on a pre-built
class that has been given to you or designing a new course for the first
time, this interactive workshop will help you to design a course
using backwards course design. We'll explore how to use established
Course Learning Outcomes to drive the creation of modules, course
content, assessments, and activities.
Learning Outcomes:
- Participants will be able to differentiate between how to use a Course Learning Outcome and a Student Learning Objective
- Participants will apply the skills of developing Student Learning Objectives to develop a module for learning
- Participants
will be able to discuss ways to utilize assessments and class
activities to support Student Learning Objectives and Course Learning
